The North Little Rock Public Library System (NLRPLS) is thrilled to announce a significant milestone – we've secured funding from the Public Library Association (PLA) and AT&T to elevate digital literacy within our community and improve access to affordable internet connectivity.
Digital Literacy Workshops: Thanks to PLA's digitallearn.org, NLRPLS is gearing up to host a series of informative digital literacy workshops. Whether you're a novice in the online world or looking to enhance your cybersecurity skills, our workshops will cater to your needs. NLRPLS has been granted $7,700 in funding to offer DigitalLearn training and update technology in one of Laman Library's meeting rooms.
Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) Basics: NLRPLS proudly joins the ranks of 24 selected libraries to offer ACP Basics workshops. This federal program provides eligible households with up to a $30 monthly discount on internet services and up to a $100 discount on laptops, desktop computers, or tablets.
We're excited to align these initiatives with our commitment to providing equitable access to digital literacy. Furthermore, we're actively expanding our offerings to cater to Spanish-language speakers.
To ensure you don't miss these opportunities, mark your calendars for our upcoming Affordability Connectivity Programs in October:
-
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 AM at Argenta Public Library
-
October 10, 12, 24, 26 at 10 AM at Laman Public Library
-
Wednesdays at 10 AM at Seis Puentes (Starting October 11)
Keep an eye out for more library updates, as we're dedicated to helping you navigate the digital world and fostering access for all in our community.
