NaNoWriMo at Laman Library

Have you ever wanted to write a novel, but are putting it off because you don’t know where to start or think you don’t have the time? Why not join the North Little Rock Public Library System, along with a community of 500,000 writers from around the world, to participate in National Novel Writing Month during the month of November!

Participants in National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo for short) commit to writing 50,000 words during the month of November—an average of 1,667 words per day. The goal is simply to get words onto the page without worrying about quality. Write first, and worry about fixing things later. After all, you can’t edit words that don’t exist!

To participate, first go to nanowrimo.org to create an account and register your novel. If you want more information on how to plan out your month in order to meet your writing goal, you can come by either NLR Library location to pick up a handout with tips and a progress tracker.

In addition, NLR Public Library System will be hosting several in-person programs for anyone who wants to come and work on a writing project during the month of November, whether you are participating in NaNoWriMo or not!
