Introducing The Loft's Teen Advisory Council (T.A.C)

We're psyched to introduce NLRPL's very first Teen Advisory Council (T.A.C.)!

The Loft, NLRPL's dedicated teen space at Laman Library, is committed to working with our community rather than for them. In that spirit, the T.A.C. opened for applications last fall and these four teens were selected to lay its foundation.

Tyler (he/him), Parker (he/him), Aaliyah (she/her), and Alisia (he/she/they) have already taken up responsibilities in the Loft, including an in-depth review of Loft policies, routine organization of our collection, and program planning. Upcoming plans for the group include a diversity audit of the Loft's collection, volunteering at major library events, and helping to plan near-future community aid programs (you'll have to wait and see what we've come up with, but we have a feeling you'll like it).

As these students work together with library staff to develop programs, connections, and collections we hope you will encourage them to act boldly - not only in their capacity as library volunteers and stewards, but as cherished members of North Little Rock community.
