Exciting developments are underway in North Little Rock as the North Little Rock Public Library System (NLRPLS) prepares to take over the management and operations of the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub. This dynamic center for innovation and entrepreneurship has been a cornerstone of creativity in our community since its establishment in 2014.
Pending finalization this fall, the transition from Winrock International to NLRPLS marks a significant milestone for both organizations and the broader community. NLRPLS aims to build upon the Hub's legacy of fostering innovation by expanding access to its transformative programs and resources. This strategic move underscores the library system's commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs and empowering community members in the digital age.
"The acquisition of the Innovation Hub’s programming, equipment, staff, and services represents a monumental step forward for our community," remarked Crystal Gates, Executive Director of NLRPLS. "By merging the resources and expertise of our library system with the Hub’s innovative spirit, we will create a hub of learning, creativity, and collaboration unlike any other."
Joyjit Deb Roy, Winrock’s chief global programs and development officer, expressed enthusiasm for this evolution: "Winrock has been proud to support the Hub's mission of inspiring innovation and expanding opportunities for Arkansans. Now, with NLRPLS assuming ownership and management, we are excited to see the Hub enter its next phase of growth."
Errin Stanger, former director of the Innovation Hub, also voiced support for the transition: "NLRPLS’s commitment to community-based learning aligns perfectly with the Hub’s mission. This partnership ensures ongoing programmatic impact and strengthens our outreach efforts."
